Success Charity
Hello, we are Success Charity
We are the good news charity that exists to help you on your recovery journey
What We Do
We exist to support children and young people recovering from a brain tumour, and to stand alongside the families who travel that journey with them.
A childhood brain tumour is not only a medical crisis; it is a life-altering event.
Even when treatment is successful, the after-effects can be complex, long-lasting and often poorly understood.
Success was founded to change that — to provide practical, emotional and social support, and to advocate for the lifelong care every survivor deserves.
Supporting Survivors and Families
We help children and young people rebuild skills, confidence and independence through a blend of specialist programmes.
Our Digital Therapy Programme provides accessible rehabilitation tools that make a lasting difference.
Our peer-to-peer mentoring programme connects survivors with trained volunteer mentors who understand the challenges of life after treatment, providing encouragement, guidance and a reassuring sense of community.
Success also brings families together through events that create joy, connection and shared experience.
From family days and picnics to our annual Christmas Carol Concert, we offer safe, supported spaces where survivors, siblings and parents can meet others who understand their journey.
Information, Advocacy and Education
We provide clear, trustworthy information for parents and young people, helping them navigate medical, educational and emotional challenges.
We work with clinicians, teachers and allied professionals to improve understanding of the late effects of treatment, ensuring survivors receive appropriate support at school, in further education and in early employment.
Success advocates nationally for improved long-term care pathways.
We use the lived experience of our community to highlight gaps in support and push for services that recognise recovery as a lifelong process, not a short-term event.
Building Community and Reducing Isolation
Brain tumour recovery can be isolating. Many survivors experience fatigue, cognitive changes, friendships disrupted by lengthy treatment, and difficulties returning to school or social life.
Through our online groups, workshops and in-person meet-ups, we create a strong, supportive community where young people feel understood and valued.
Families also benefit from connecting with each other, sharing practical advice and emotional support.
Parents often tell us that Success is the first place where they feel truly heard.
Driving Change and Celebrating Hope
Our work is grounded in the belief that every child deserves not just to survive, but to thrive.
We give survivors the tools they need to navigate their futures with confidence, and we celebrate their achievements — large and small — as steps towards renewed independence and joy.
Success Charity is growing rapidly, driven by the needs of our community and the generosity of our supporters.
Everything we do brings us closer to our vision: a world where every childhood brain tumour survivor receives the lifelong care, recognition and opportunities they deserve.

Financial Support and Benefits Advice
carers, patients
Yorkshire's Brain Tumour Charity
Yorkshire’s Brain Tumour Charity provide expert welfare advice and, where possible, local hardship grants.
Welfare Advice
Navigating benefits and financial support can be complex, particularly during a time of illness. YBTC connects individuals and families with specialist welfare advice to help them:
- Understand what financial support they may be entitled to, including benefits and allowances
- Apply for disability-related benefits, such as Personal Independence Payments (PIP) or Universal Credit
- Access financial assistance schemes for medical-related travel or equipment
- Find guidance on employment rights and flexible working options
Hardship Grants
To further ease the financial impact of a brain tumour diagnosis, YBTC actively seeks local funding opportunities across Yorkshire. By working with trusts and community-based initiatives, the charity helps secure hardship grants that can provide practical support with essentials such as food, utilities, and other daily costs. This financial support is designed to reduce stress and help families focus on what matters most during a difficult time.

1-2-1 Brain Tumour Support
carers, patients
Yorkshire's Brain Tumour Charity
Yorkshire’s Brain Tumour Charity offers 1-2-1 support to ensure that no one has to face the impact of a brain tumour diagnosis alone.
1-2-1 Wellbeing Calls
The charity’s experienced staff provide free and confidential phone calls, usually lasting around 30 minutes. These calls are designed to:
- Check in on wellbeing and provide emotional support
- Offer a safe, non-judgemental space to talk openly
- Provide information and guidance on available resources
- Connect individuals with other services or organisations that may help
1-2-1 Peer Support
YBTC also provides trained peer support volunteers who have personal experience of brain tumours, either as patients, carers, or through bereavement. Speaking with someone who has lived through similar experiences can help reduce feelings of isolation and offer reassurance. Volunteers can:
- Provide a listening ear and emotional encouragement
- Share practical tips from their own experiences
- Offer reassurance for those feeling alone during difficult times
- Support with specific situations, for example one volunteer has undergone Transorbital Meningioma Surgery and can talk to others preparing for this
These services are free and available to anyone affected by a brain tumour across Yorkshire.
